Program Approval
Requests for new units will be accepted by the Illinois Board of Higher Education at any time following appropriate institutional review and are acted upon at one of the IBHE Board meetings.
The mission of the University and the identity of its universities is reflected in the strategic framework most recently approved by the Board of Trustees in 2016. New programs must demonstrate their fit not only with the University's stated mission, but also to the strategic plan of the Illinois Board of Higher Education, A Thriving Illinois, approved by the IBHE in June 2021.
